Why have your Softub motor serviced?
Regular servicing is essential to ensure your Softub continues to run safely and efficiently. It also helps extend the lifespan of your Softub motor unit by allowing potential issues to be identified and resolved before they develop into more serious and costly problems.
During a Softub motor service, we carry out a comprehensive health check to ensure everything is working correctly. We will run the motor with water and fully test it to check for leaks. A small leak may not be noticed by you, but if left will only get worse and potentially cause more damage. As part of our preventative maintenance, we also replace key components that degrade over time including the capacitor and seals. This helps maintain maximum protection for your system and reduces the risk of costly repairs in the future.
How this service works
Once you have purchased your Softub servicing package, we'll send you with a box for your Softub motor unit. When you have drained the Softub, disconnect the Hydromate, and place it in the provided box. Notify us when it is ready for collection. (Ensure all the water is out of the pipework before boxing it up!) We can then agree a day for the courier to collect it!
What the Softub Annual Motor Service & Health Check Includes
- One of our experienced engineers will first make a visual inspection of the wiring to check for over heated/ melted wiring.
- We will replace the Capacitor. This is a part that starts the motor every time and does wear. Early replacement ensures continued smooth operation.
- Check the light transformer works. (additional cost if needs replacing)
- Check the condition of the Noise Reduction Foam and advise. (This sometimes disintegrates over time)
- We will check all seals and replace helping to avoid future leaks.
- Check for visual sign that impeller and shaft are in good order- no obvious signs of a leak or any cracking on the impeller.
- Pressure wet test unit and check Impeller seal is not leaking and all other joints are water tight.
- We will also clean the motor fabric and apply a protector.
- We will then advise on any issues we may find and advise a corrective course of action. Once the unit is ready to be returned we will agree a date to come back to you.
We would recommend you have this service if your Softub is around 3 years old and then between 12 months to two years.
